Drop catching
Register licences as they expire
Drop catching is the practice of re-registering domain licences the instant they expire.
In Australia, some domain names are considered of high value because they combine scarcity, trust, and obvious commercial value.
The highest value domain names tend to be registered, but, occasionally, a desirable name appears on the droplist.
Names on the droplist have passed through the expiry process and will become available to eligible parties to register again in the near future. The cost of registering a domain is the same as any licence, which creates an opportunity to secure a valuable domain name at a bargain price.
